



Sugar and spice? Uh… not quite. This magazine was created for the girls who’d gladly trade frills and lace for dirt and scrapes. Merging the design qualities of David Carson and postmodern aesthetics, my intent was to capture the carefree nature of punk rock skate culture in relation to the tomboy’s free spirit. Checkerboard graphics, cropped type, and sporadic scale help to drive that idea home.
