Mi casa es su casa: My house is your house. In death, we all end up in the same place, so we might as well welcome each other openly. This poster—created for MUMEDI’s international poster competition—was inspired by the traditional festivities of the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration. Hand-painted illustrations are up close and personal within the frame to reflect the intimate and vulnerable nature of death, as well as our inevitable confrontation with it. Ceremonial offerings surround two skulls atop a subtle marigold silhouette; the orange tones all a part of the bittersweet, fleeting quality of life, love, and time.
